Miss Boots Anson-Roa and Award-winning Movies “El Presidente” and “Doobeedoobeedoo” Coming to the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center
On Sunday, August 25, 2013, the legendary TV personality and award-winning movie actress Miss Boots Anson-Roa will be at the Bayanihan Arts and Event Center to meet the Philippine community. Miss Roa, who is the current president of the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation, Inc. (MOWELFUND) will beringing with her two award-winning movies “El Presidente” (The President) and “Doobeedoobeedoo.” The event will start at 1 pm with a special documentary showing of the “The Aguinaldo Shrine” hosted and narrated by Miss Roa.
The award-winning Filipino epic “El Presidente,” a biopic based on the life of the first president of the Philippine Republic, Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, is a MUST SEE all-star cast movie in period costumes stars Cesar Montano, Miss Nora Aunor, Christine Reyes, and Christopher de Leon. This will be immediately followed by a hilarious comedy musical “Doobeedoobeedoo” staring Gary Valenciano, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Eugene Domingo, Ogie Alcasid, and teen icons Sam Concepcion and Tippy Dos Santos. The movie is woven around the Apo Hiking Society greatest hits guaranteed to make you sing and laugh at the same time.
The Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc. (PCFI) is presenting Miss Boots Anson-Roa and this double feature movie as part of the Cultural Program of the foundation. Miss Roa’s coming to Tampa was made possible by PCFI Board members Drs. Rafael and Erlinda Pascual. The event is being spearheaded by the members of the Sampaguita Ball Ladies Committee. Tickets are $20 (General Admission) and $50 (VIP Seating).
