Bamboo and Strings 2015
The Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc. presents “Bamboo and Strings 2015” featuring the Musikong Kawayan Bamboo Ensemble on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at 2:00PM at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center located at 14301 Nine Eagles Drive, Tampa, FL 33626.
Now on its third year in this format, “Bamboo and Strings” will be conducted by Nhick Ramiro Pacis with the following guest artists: Philippine Choral Group conducted by Connie Chanrasmi, Philippine Performing Arts Company, Inc. directed by Joey Omila, the Bayside String Quartet composed of Sandy Kitts (violin 1), Evelyn Pupello (violin 2), Karen Dumke (viola) and Rebecca Bialoski (cello) and John DiMura, bassist and Dale Williams, pianist. The program will consist of original compositions and arrangements of Nhick Ramiro Pacis which include Filipino ethnic, folk and popular songs and traditional and popular American favorites.
The Musikong Kawayan Bamboo Ensemble, Philippine Performing Arts Company and Philippine Choral Group are all cultural arms of PCFI and make up the Foundation’s Philippine Music, Theater, Dance and Art Program. With the support of the Arts Council of Hillsborough County, the Program is able to share Filipino culture with the Tampa Bay community Area community and surrounding counties and states through free classes and outreach performances.
Admission to “Bamboo and Strings 2014” is only $10.00 and free for children ages 6 and below. Sponsorships and additional donations are also very much appreciated and will be thanked in print at the concert playbill. Proceeds from this concert will benefit PCFI’s Music, Theater, Dance and Art Program.
