Classical Concert Series 2014 Features Local Fil-Am Artists
The Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc. is proud to present its Classical Concert Series Program for 2014 featuring local Filipino-American artists in the Tampa Bay Area on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 3:00PM at the the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center’s Bautista Lobby. The featured artists are sopranos Carissa Chanrasmi and Rhovi Ann Allado, alto Connie Chanrasmi, baritone Vic Omila, Jr., bass Jeff Ryan Miraflor and pianist Nhick Ramiro Pacis. They will be presenting a program of Filipino and Broadway classics.
Admissions to the concert is $15.00, children 7 and under, free.
Carissa Chanrasmi goes to St. Petersburg Catholic High School and was a winner of PhilFest’s “Tawag ng Tanghalan” talent competition for children. She is an active member of the Philippine Choral Group and Musikong Kawayan Bamboo Ensemble. Currently a nurse, Rhovi Allado made her music theater debut as Anang in “Ana Maria”, a Filipino zarzuela by Antonio Molina and Lola Basyang which was staged by the Fil-Am Theater Company of Tampa in 2012 and 2013. Connie Chanrasmi is a graduate of the University of the Philippines and was a member of the Philippine Madrigal Singers. She is presently the conductor of the Philipine Choral Group. Baritone Vic Omila was a member of the University of the Philippines Concert Chorus and presently sings with the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Choir and cantors at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Ybor City. Jeff Ryan Miraflor was a graduate of Jesuit High School in Tampa and currently goes to the University of Central Florida. Composer/arranger Nhick Ramiro Pacis is the resident music director of PCFI, directing the Musikong Kawayan Bamboo Ensemble. He is also the music director at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
PCFI’s Classical Concert Series features Filipino-American artists and other performers in the Tampa Bay Area and other locations. Other artists who have performed in this program include violinist Brent Taghap, Michael del Rosario, the Philippine Madrigal Singers, St. Petersburg College’s Madrigalians and others.
