CONSULATE-ON-WHEELS 2011: Dual Citizenship, ePassport and Other Consular Services at PhilFest
NOTE: As of Wednesday, January 26, 2011, all available schedules for passport applications and renewals have been filled out. We are no longer accepting any new applications. Applications for Dual Citizenship is still on-going at the Philippine Consulate office in Washington, D.C.
The Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc. and the Philippine Consular Office in Washington D.C., through the facilitation of the Pilipino American Political Aggregation, Inc. in Tampa, are once again bringing the Consular Office to Tampa through “Consulate-on-Wheels” at PhilFest 2011. Now fully scheduled from Friday to Sunday, April 8-10, 2011 from 9am to 12 Noon and 1:30PM to 5 PM, the Consular Team will be stationed at the Cimafranca Library inside the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center to provide consular services to the public, including a Dual Citizenship Ceremony on April 10 at 2:00 PM at the Center’s Grand Sampaguita Hall. This is an oath-taking event to re-acquire Philippine Citizenship pursuant to Republic Act No. 9225 otherwise known as the “Citizenship Retention and Reacquisition Act of 2003” and Memorandum Circular No. AFF-04-01, “Rules Governing Philippine Citizenship Under Republic Act (R.A.) No. 9225 and Administrative Order (A.O.) No. 91, Series of 2004” issued by the Bureau of Immigration.
All natural born Filipinos who have lost their Philippine citizenship due to naturalization as a citizen of another country may file a Petition for Retention and Reacquisition of Philippine Citizenship on their behalf .
Those interested in re-acquiring Philippine citizenship are required to send the following documents to The Embassy of the Philippines at 1600 Massachussetts Avenue, NW, Washington D.C. 20036 by REGISTERED MAIL by Friday, March 11, 2011:
4 copies of Philippine Birth Certificate
4 copies of Philippine Passport
4 copies of US Passport
4 copies of Marriage Certificate/Contract (for married women)
4 original duly-accomplished Application Forms
4 copies of US Naturalization Certificate
6 pieces of latest photograph (2” x 2”)
$50.00 processing fee
Please indicate your intentions of attending the ceremony at PhilFest 2011 in Tampa, Florida; otherwise, you may go to Washington D.C. to be sworn in. Walk-ins at “Consulate-on-Wheels” will be charged an additional $40.00 to cover for mailing costs.
Other Consular services at PhilFest 2011 include e Passport Renewal, application for new ePassport and applications for Report of Birth and Report of Marriages. For ePassport applications and renewals, please call the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center office at (813) 925-1232 to schedule an appointment (10 minutes per person). Walk-ins to this service will not be accommodated. On the appointment date, please bring all the required documents, including duly filled-up application forms. Passport application and renewal fee is $60.00 which already includes passport photo taking.

Applicants and other guests at “Consulate-on-Wheels are subject to $6.00 General Admisson rates at PhilFest 2011. This allows for entry to the PhilFest site, Bayanihan Arts Center Exhibits and “Consulate-on-Wheels”. Advance tickets at $5.00 may be purchased at select outlet stores.
