Leyte Dance Theater to Perform in Tampa
As part of its 2014 Cultural Program, the Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc. is proud to present the Leyte Dance Theater in a special show on Monday, May 26, 2014 at 3:00PM at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center in Tampa, Florida. Direct from the Philippines and currently one of the best dance companies in the country, the 21-member dance company has been performing for packed audiences all over the USA since April. The company is trying to help raise as much funds to help rebuild its mother city of Tacloban in Leyte, Philippines which was recently devastated by supertyphoon Hayian in November of 2013.
LDT’s repertoire is composed of five suites with dances from the different regions of the Philippines including dances of the Hispanic era and a nationalistic theme in the second part of the show. The choreography fuses folk movements with ballet and contemporary forms that makes it a distinctive style of dance interpretation.
General Admission tickets are priced at $10 while Reserved Front Seating Area are tagged at $50. Tickets are now available at Philippine groceries and outlets, Filipiniana Cafe and at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center.
