Photos from the Madrigal Singers Concert in Tampa
Here are some photos from the Philippine Madrigal Singers Concert in Tampa, Florida on August 3, 2011 at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center in Tampa, Florida. Led by its choirmaster, Mark Anthony Carpio, the 20-member Madz performed a mixed repertoire of light classics like the “William Tell Overture” by Gioacchino Rossini, popular tunes like “in The Mood” by Joe Graland and songs from “Mamma Mia” and a whole section of Filipino songs ranging from traditional to pop. They ended with a medley of nationalistic songs, “Isang Bansang Mapayapa”, arranged by Chris Borela and Lion King’s “The Circle of Life” for an encore.
This highly successful concert, sponsored by the Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc., was attended by about one hundred and fifty Filipino-American guests who gave the outstanding choir an appreciative standing ovation. After the four-day stay in Tampa, Madz moved on to Naples, Florida for a weekend concert before flying to South America.
Many thanks to the Madz and to the Filipino-Americans of Tampa Bay for such a memorable evening of exquisite choral music!
