PAAT Barrio Fiesta and Santacruzan 2018
The Pilipino American Association of Tampa Bay, Inc. (PAAT), in cooperation with the Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc. (PCFI) brings you Barrio Fiesta and Santacruzan 2018 at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center on Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm.
Barrio Fiesta brings you an afternoon of non-stop entertainment, Filipino food, shopping and games for all ages. The “Santacruzan”, the highlight of the event, is a parade presenting muses from the community. This is derived from a Philippine May-event, a religious pageant towards the end of “Flores de Mayo”, where the prominent ladies in town parade in the streets representing various titles of the Virgin Mary in honor of Helena of Constantinople (known as Reyna Elena) and Constantine the Great.
This year’s Reyna Elena is Thalia Valerie Jahrling, daughter of Ramon and Lottie Jahrling from Clearwater, Florida.
More sagalas (muses) are still welcome to join the pageant. To participate, please click on the button below.
