The Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc once again presents “Tanghalang Pambata” at PhilFest 2011. The competition will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Sinagtala Theater at the Philippine Cultural Enrichment Complex where the festival is held. “Tanghalang Pambata” is a talent competition for Filipino-Americans between the ages of 5 and 15.
CONTEST RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. PhilFest’s “Tanghalang Pambata 2011” is open to any Filipino and Filipino-American between 5 and 15 years old who wants to show any talent of his or her choice. The competition will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Sinagtala Theater at 14301 Nine Eagles Drive, Tampa, Florida 33626.
2. Contestant must not have won first prize in any previous PhilFest “Tanghalang Pambata” competition.
3. Each contestant must provide his/her own props, musical instrument or music accompaniment (preferably on a CD). Please label music properly with the contestants name and the track number to be played during performance. This should be submitted to the competition coordinator at the Sinagtala Theater backstage one hour before competition time. Not submitting on time may disqualify the contestant.
4. Contestants are allowed to use Tagalog, English or Taglish as language during performance.
5. Contestants will be judged according to the following criteria: Delivery (25%), Proficiency in the Chosen Talent (25%), Originality (25%) and Audience Impact (25%) for a total of 100%. The decision of the panel of judges is final.
6. Cash and other valuable prizes will be awarded to the winners and runner-ups.
7. Contestants will NOT be provided with complimentary passes or special privileges to the festival.
8. All interested contestants MUST complete the Contest Entry Form in order to be eligible for the competition. This must be sent by mail to:
