Pasko 2012
The Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc. will be celebrating “Pasko 2012”, its annual Christmas Festival on Sunday, December 16, 2012 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 PM at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center at 14301 Nine Eagles Drive, Tampa, Florida 33626. This PCFI event, hosted this year by the Philippine Nurses Association of Tampa Bay (PNA-TB), celebrates the Christmas season as it is celebrated back in the Philippines: with a joyful noise!
Christmas in the Philippines officially starts on the 16th of December, marked by everyday religious festivities intertwined with family celebrations. PCFI’s “Pasko” attempts to emulate this in an afternoon of entertainment, food, games, parades and shopping.
Entertainment will be provided by the Philippine Performing Arts Company, the Philippine Choral Group, Musikong Kawayan Bamboo Ensemble and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Ladies Choir among other artists. Filipino-American caterers and merchandisers have also been invited to prepare Filipino food and merchandise. There will be a christmas tree decoration contest lots of children games all afternoon. The celebration will also culminate with a christmas pageant especially prepared by the First Baptist Church of Safety Harbor, a “parol” parade and Santa Claus giving gifts to the children (also through the First Baptist Church of Safety Harbor). If you would like to participate, please bring properly labelled gifts for your family and friends!
There will also be a nativity display at the Bahay Kubo at the Philippine Cultural Enrichment Complex (PhilFest site) from November 24 to January 6 from 10AM to 5PM (Closed on Mondays).
Admission to “Pasko” is $3.00, children 5 and under, free. For more information, please contact Ariel Zabala at (813) 334-2414, or Chris Hermano at (813) 991-5007 or (813) 817-6773. Everyone is invited to this fun event – please bring the whole family and invite your friends as we celebrate the holidays!
