Performing at PhilFest 2012
The Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc. is once again bringing PhilFest 2012, the biggest Filipino festival in town! Experience the spirit of Filipino Fiesta – food, entertainment and much much more – on March 30, 31 and April 1, 2012 at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center and Philippine Cultural Enrichment Complex at 14301 Nine Eagles Drive, Tampa, FL 33626. To know more about PhilFest, please visit our website at www.pcfitampa.org .
Artists, musicians, dancers and other performers with a Filipino-touch in their performances are most welcome to share their talents at the PhilFest stage. If you would like to share your skills, please review the guidelines below.
WHO MAY APPLY
Individuals or groups of any age, race or nationality may apply. However, performance must have a touch of Filipino culture in order to be considered for inclusion in the program. This is not an application to join any of the PhilFest competitions.
APPLICATIONS
Applications will be accepted between February 1 – 15, 2012. Please fill out the Application Form and send it to us by faxing (813) 818-9599, emailing to info@pcfitampa.org or mailing to PhilFest 2012 Performer, Bayanihan Arts and Events Center, 14301 Nine Eagles Drive, Tampa, FL 33626. Your submission will be reviewed by the PhilFest Entertainment Committee and you will be notified of the result on or before February 24, 2012. Applications not postmarked by February 15 will not be reviewed for participation at the festival.
PERFORMANCES
Due to the volume of applications, there will be a limit of 15 minutes maximum per individual or group (stage preparation, entrances and exits included). We will also notify you about final time and schedule of performance based on what you indicate in the application form. If using recorded music, please limit media to audio CD’s only. Please do not bring cassette tapes or mp3 players. It is advisable to keep stage props to a minimum as there may not be enough space. A tent will be provided backstage for costume changes, but items used must be removed after the performance to give space to succeeding performers. We will not be liable for items that are lost or misplaced.
HONORARIUM AND SPECIAL PRIVILEGES
Performing at PhilFest is a purely voluntary event. PCFI will not be able to give individuals or groups honorarium or any financial support like transportation or hotel expenses. We will, however, be providing each individual complimentary tickets (for actual performing members only) and parking privileges (for group performers only, limited to one parking permit per group) for the day they will be performing.
