PMS Inducts Officers for 2014 -2016
The Philippine Medical Society of FL Inc., Gulf Coast Chapter recently held their induction of Officers and Board Members for 2014-2016 in conjunction with the celebration of its 36th year anniversary at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center in Tampa , Florida last July 25, 2014. Those inducted were: PresIdent – Judith Cimafranca, MD, Vice-President-Rosita Tena, MD, Treasurer-Riquesa Cua, MD. Treasurer-Resurrecion Santos, MD, Auditor-Maritess de Jesus, MD, PRO-Jonathan Alvior, MD, PRO- Querubin Mendoza, MD, ADVISERS: Greto Ramos, MD, Clemente Nunag,MD, William Cua, MD, Rodolfo Dy, MD, and BOARD MEMBERS: Benjamin Abinales, MD, Prudencio Aqui,, MD, Venerando Batas, MD, Ma. Teresa G. Bissonnette,, MD, Virgilio Cabigas, MR, Pacifico Cordon, MD Leon Espiritu, MD, Randall Latorre, MD, Benjamin Mosquera, MD, Jos Raffinan, MD, Gabriel Sanchez, MD, Ramon Santamaria, MD, Leoncio Tena, MD and Leo Yason, MD.
The new president, Dr. Judith Cimafranca expressed her commitment to keep PMS mission alive and stronger with the hope to continue success in its projects in the future. Dr. Clemente Nunag, former PMS President, 2008-2010 presented a award to Dr. Greto Ramos, past PMS President 2010-2014. The event was followed by a sumptuous luriat, piano by Dr. Cordon, hula dance by lady mds and auxiliary Ladies and followed by an enjoyable dancing for everyone all evening.
Proceeds of the event will benefit the PMS Scholarship Program for the most needy and less fortunate students. Through the generous support of doctors, a PAVILION was constructed at the Philippine Village of the Philippine Cultural Foundation Inc. in Tampa, FL spearheaded by Greto Ramos, MD and Leon Espiritu, MD, together with Maritess de Jesus, MD. The structure, a PMS legacy, will serve as a venue for diverse medical activities of the organization.
