PhilFest Revolution 2015
One of the most significant successes of the Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc. is being able to win the involvement of the younger generation in its events. This is solidly reflected at “PhilFest Revolution”, an annual dance competition and showcase where youth teams from all over the state of Florida and even from neighboring states come together to compete with one another through contemporary dances and choreography infused with traditional Filipino dances.
“PhilFest Revolution” is one of the main events at PhilFest, the biggest Filipino festival in Florida. It is attended by over 10,000 spectators and participants each year to get a glimpse of Philippine culture through cultural dances, songs, foods, exhibits, fashion shows, colorful parades and processions. The Philippine Village will come alive with a festival atmosphere and vendors booths will be decorated with colorful Philippine motifs.
PhilFest Revolution 2015 will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 7:30 pm at the Philippine Village (PhilFest Grounds) Sinagtala Theater of the Philippine Cultural Enrichment Complex. This site, which includes the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center, is located at 14301 Nine Eagles Drive, Tampa, FL 33626.
Many thanks to the efforts of Melissa Barrido and Michelle Lebrias, co-chairs of the event, and their advisor, Lucy Bautista and to the countless youth volunteers for successfully coordinating this event every year at PhilFest.
