Revolution 2022
PhilFest Revolution is one of the main events at PhilFest, the biggest Filipino festival in Florida. PhilFest is attended by over 10,000 people each year to get a glimpse of Philippine culture through cultural dances, songs, foods, exhibits, fashion shows, colorful parades and processions.
PhilFest Revolution 2022, which started in 1998, is an annual dance competition and showcase where teams from all over the state of Florida come together to compete by modernizing Filipino cultural dances with a mix of hip-hop. Revolution is held on the second day of Philfest, Saturday, and targets the youth in the Filipino community to showcase the Filipino culture. We encourage all interested dance groups to participate!
General criteria for competing teams
Groups should be no less than 3 members. Competing groups do not need to be affiliated with the Filipino community or inherently Filipino themselves. They must simply be willing to showcase Filipino culture in their performance. Groups will select from a list of traditional Filipino dances which they must somehow integrate into their set. A maximum of 7 minutes is allowed for each group’s performance, not including set-up time.

Registration for groups interested in competing ends Tuesday February 15, 2022 at 11:59 PM. Please contact the Philfest Revolution 2022 Directors if you are having trouble meeting this deadline, but are still interested in participating.
