Sampaguita Ball 2012: “Looking to the Future”
The Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc. is once again presenting the biggest Filipino Charity Ball in the Tampa Bay Area on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 6:00 PM at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center‘s Grand Sampaguita Ballroom. This 19th Annual Charity Ball, a complete feast to the senses from cocktails to dinner to entertainment and dance, is priced at $100 per person with proceeds geared towards supporting PCFI’s cultural projects.
Co-chairs of Sampaguita Ball 2012 are Dr. Carolina Lugay-Lacson and Dr. Erlinda Pascual. The Sampaguita Ball Ladies, comprised of several ladies from PCFI Board members, work together in their various committees to hold an event that showcases aspects of the Philippine culture and entertain the attendees from the community.
What is different this year is the involvement of young adults in the process, giving substance to the theme and taking a step towards ensuring that this gala affair, a major fund-raising event for the foundation, will continue. The youth will be ably represented by Melissa Barrido, Melissa Santiano, Nhick Pacis and Arnell Biglete. These four are actively involved in PCFI cultural activities and in promoting the goals of the foundation.
The evening will feature performances by PCFI’s cultural groups, Musikong Kawayan Ensemble conducted by Nhick Pacis, Philippine Performing Arts Company led by Joey Omila, and Philippine Choral Group led by Olive Santiano and Connie Chanrasmi. Live band entertainment will be provided by Total Sound while dinner will be catered by Hao Wah Restaurant.
