Yugyugan 2024
Shake and shimmy at the Yugyugan 2024 Street Dancing Competition, part of PhilFest’s festivities, on Sunday, April 7, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Philippine Village, also known as PhilFest Grounds! If your social organization is interested in participating in this exciting event at PhilFest 2024, please reach out to Dr. Abby Hamilton at (813) 817-1905 or fill out the participation form down below.
Yugyugan offers a vibrant display reminiscent of the grand street festivals found in various towns and cities across the Philippines during their fiestas. These events feature elaborate choreography, colorful costumes, and large-scale production numbers as communities parade and dance in the streets to honor patron saints, celebrate history and culture, give thanks for bountiful harvests, and more. Well-known street dancing festivals in the Philippines include Ati-Atihan, Sinulog, Binalbal, Sandugo, Maskara, among others.
Even better, explore the entirety of PhilFest from Friday to Sunday, April 5 to 7, 2024. Celebrating its 28th year, PhilFest continues to light up PCFI’s festival grounds situated at 14301 Nine Eagles Drive, Tampa, FL 33626.
Advance tickets to the festival are available for just $8.00, with gate prices at $10.00. Admission is free for children aged 5 and under, as well as military veterans.
