6:30 PM | Welcome Speech by Arnell Biglete, PCFI Chairman and PhilFest 2017 Chairman
PCFI and PhilFest 2017 Chairman Arnell Biglete will officially welcome all guests and participants at PhilFest 2017.
6:45 PM | Tallahassee Community College Dance Company [Sinagtala Theater]
The Tallahassee Community College is in its 15th performance season and Philfest has been the highlight of the touring season. The TCC dancers are students, alumni and friends of the company. The company is ballet and modern/contemporary based and has included in its repertory choreography that touches on the Filipino music and dance elements. The participation in Philfest gives the students an opportunity to create and experience the culture of the Philippines through music, dance , drama, cuisine and most of all the hospitality of Filipinos. It is always an honor to be a part of the festival and hope that we are able to bring creative and wholesome music and dance for the audience to appreciate.

Opening Cultural Show by PCFI’s cultural arms: Musikong Kawayan Bamboo Ensemble (directed by Nhick Ramiro Pacis), Philippine Choral Group (conducted by Connie Chanrasmi) and Philippine Performing Arts Company, Inc. (choreographed by Joey Omila) with special guests.

Mariana trench is an all-Filipino band that plays all kinds of music of all time: from the 70’s to the newest, from rock to ballads, some originals and, of course, our very own Pinoy music!

Multi-talented 8-year-old Michelle Jones is also a Fiesta Mo sa Florida candidate.
11:20 AM | Brandon Cantilang [Sinagtala Theater]
Brandon Cantilang, Tanghalang Pambata 2014 winner. Brandon Cantilang is an actor, known for The Solomon Bunch (2013), Sunday Morning Rapture (2011) and Camp Chippewa (2012). He is from Georgia.
11:30 AM | Philippine Performing Arts Company, Inc. [Sinagtala Theater]
Established in 1991, PPAC presents Philippine culture through dance, music, costume and art. Directed and choreographed by Joey Omila, the group performs extensively throughout Florida and other US states. PPAC will perform “Ragragsakan”, “Salip” and “Festival”

12:15 PM | LUZVIMINDA Arnis/Kali [Sinagtala Theater]
Luzviminda Arnis Kali Brotherhood (L.A.K.B.) is a Filipino martial arts organization that aims to propagate the Filipino martial culture both in its classical form as well as its modern interpretation. The aim is to teach an all-around knowledge of all the Filipino weapons as well as proficiency with empty hands. Luzviminda Arnis is not a sport but purely combat oriented fighting art.The goal is to train highly skilled fighters and who will later go on to become highly skilled teachers, preserving the art for generations to come. Over 55 years of study in the Filipino martial arts has resulted in the formulation of the Luzviminda Arnis style.

A 31 year old, Lyrical Hip-Hop Dancer who won the “Sayawan Na” Competition in 2008 turned her faith as an inspired Christian Singer/Songwriter in 2012, known as ShxaiLen. ShxaiLen desires to offer her time and talents for the greater glory of God. She strongly believes she has a deep calling through her creative skills. The existence of her being here is to inspire others in the love of God and her thanksgiving offered by singing praises and worship songs.

We are a group of moms who enjoy fellowship through dancing and want to share our talents with the Filipino community.
1:15 PM | Fitness 4 Life / We Are Fit Studio [Sinagtala Theater]
We are 3 generation who loves teaching Zumba with our group. We offer group fitness classes for all fitness types… The goal is to make fitness fun! Everyone is welcome to enjoy getting fit and have fun at the same time, so follow along and let the rhythm get you…We bring our fitness to kids and adults birthday parties for those that are looking to add a little more fun to your events. We do special events and also fundraising events for anyone.

4Ever40 Sisterhood Association is going to perform the ‘LAKAS NG KABABAIHANG PILIPINA 3G” showing the 3 generations of empowered women, with dancing and singing at the background (mime and pre-recorded dance music).

Grand Flores de PhilFest (Flowers of PhilFest) parade is a replica of Flores de Mayo in the Philippines, this grand parade around the PhilFest grounds presents muses and their escorts as they march around the festival grounds in exquisite Filipino attires.

With an extended membership consisting of Filipino-Americans from a more varied range ethnicity, age and profession, bound together by the passion for singing. Under the continued music directorship of former Philippine Madrigal Singer, Connie Chanrasmi, the group has participated in almost every Filipino-American event in the Tampa Bay Area.

2:00 PM | YUGYUGAN 2017 [PhilFest Grounds]
Philippine Street Dancing Competition between organizations. “Yugyugan” mimics the huge street dancing events in various towns and cities in the Philippines which are normally held during special festivals to honor patron saints, celebrate bountiful harvests or commemorate local pride in music, art and crafts. These are usually huge productions in full costumes and elaborate choreography as the townsfolk go about dancing in the streets.
2:30 PM | Dance Floor Breaker [Sinagtala Theater]
Dance Floor Breaker for Tampa, Florida will perform a medley Zumba Dance. Audience participation is encouraged!

Folklorico Filipiniana is a cultural dance group based in Tallahassee, Florida performing traditional folk dances from of the Philippines in order to share and contribute in promoting cultural awareness of Philippine heritage through music and dance.
