Tanghalang Pambata 2021
The Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc. invites participants to Tanghalang Pambata 2021 at PhilFest, a fun competition open to all Filipino and Filipino-American children and youth between 5 and 15 years old who want to showcase their talents. The competition will now be held on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Philippine Village’s Sinagtala Theater.
Before the pandemic, Alexandra Gray won 1st place at Tanghalang Pambata in April 2019.
Contest Rules
Contestant must not have won first prize in any previous PhilFest Tanghalang Pambata competition.
Each contestant must provide his/her own props, musical instrument and/or music accompaniment. If accepted to join, each contestant will be asked to submit any recorded music accompaniment via email. The email address will be provided in the acceptance email following application. Not submitting may disqualify the contestant.
Contestants are allowed to use Tagalog, English or Taglish as language during performance.
PhilFest is held at the Philippine Cultural Enrichment Complex located at 14301 Nine Eagles Drive, Tampa, FL 33626.
Criteria
Contestants to Tanghalang Pambata 2021 will be judged according to the following criteria:
Delivery (25%)
Proficiency in the Chosen Talent (25%)
Originality (25%)
Audience Impact (25%)
The decision of the panel of judges is final.
Prizes
Cash and other valuable prizes will be awarded to the winners and runner-ups:
First Prize: $500
Second prize: $300
Third Prize: $200
Contestants will NOT be provided with complimentary passes or special privileges to the festival.
