Tawag ng Tanghalan 2023
The Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc. is now accepting contestant applications for Tawag ng Tanghalan 2023 Solo Vocal Competition for Adults to be held during PhilFest on Sunday, March 31 at 8:00PM at the Sinagtala Theater, 14301 Nine Eagles Drive, Tampa, Florida 33626.
This competition has been synonymous with PhilFest and has been won by talented singers like Ramielle Malubay, Vanessa Quillao, Joy Gann, Don Bronto, Fr. Aba Villagomeza and many others. In 2022, the grand prize winner was Marian Cayabas.
Criteria and Prizes
Tawag ng Tanghalan 2023 is open to any Filipino, American or both, 16 years or older who may or may not represent a Filipino-American organization, county or state. To be eligible, applicant must not have won first prize in any past “Tawag ng Tanghalan” competition at PhilFest.
Each contestant may have a live accompanist or a recorded accompaniment. If using a live accompanist, please inform the contest coordinators beforehand to arrange for proper sound amplification if needed. If using a recorded accompaniment, please email your music file as indicated in the confirmation email following your online application.
Tawag ng Tanghalan 2023 computation of scores will be according to criteria set by a panel of judges. Winners will be announced at the end of the competition. The decision of the panel of judges is final.
Cash and other valuable prizes will be awarded to the winners and runner-ups:
1stPrize: $500
2nd Prize: $300
3rd Prize: $200
Contestants and winners will NOT be provided with complimentary gate passes or any special privileges to the festival.

Only the first 12 qualified applicants will be eligible to participate due to competition time constraints. All interested contestants MUST complete the Online Contest Entry Form provided below in order to be eligible for the competition. Application will be open until Saturday, March 18 at 11:59 PM or until the first 15 slots are filled.
